Our training starts with that required by Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) so that we are eligible to participate in their state games.  If you are new, start with the Volunteers page and complete the Volunteer Profile, Code of Conduct, and Background Check steps.

All head coaches are required to be certified by SOGA in the sport they are coaching.

These two require a login to a new training site:

SOGA requires that ALL volunteers complete the online Protective Behaviors Training.

SOGA and GMST also require that ALL coaches and other volunteers complete the online Concussion Training.

Follow this page for Training Courses, such as the SOGA Mini Sports Camps. Trained coaches no longer have to keep track of coaching hours before being certified!  Also training can be renewed online.

The remainder of this page is for GMST training, tips, and suggestions that will build upon the base of the required training.
